Emily EICHMAN

Interdisciplinary educator, researcher, and author

Emily Eichman is an interdisciplinary educator, researcher, and author involved in intercultural teaching contexts. She was a participant (English Language Fellow) with English Language Programs, a program funded by the US Department of State through the Office of English Language Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Center for Intercultural Education and Development at Georgetown University. This program brings highly talented American professionals in the field of English language teaching to work in institutions around the world. She was hosted by the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INP-HB) in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire for two, ten month contracts from September 2022-June 2023 and September 2023-July 2024. In her career, she has had the opportunity to work with the full range of students (nursery school through university, and adults - all language levels) as a teacher, curriculum developer, as well as task based trainer in Japan, China, the United States, and Côte d’Ivoire. Besides the education realm, Emily has had the opportunity to work in various roles in the fields of human resources, transportation, agriculture, sustainability + resilience, and as a winemaker. Emily received her MA-International Relations from Bond University in Australia, and her BA-Communications (major) and Business Administration (minor) from the University of Jamestown, North Dakota, USA. Emily earned her Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification as a Peace Corps volunteer in China, her Winemaking Certificate from the University of California-Davis, USA, and her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute. Emily is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI): La Crosse-Rochester Chapter, American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV), Africa ELTA (English Language Teachers Association), CINELTA (Côte d’Ivoire English Language Teachers Association), TESOL International Association, West Africa TESOL Association, and National Peace Corps Association.
