KONAN Kouadio Samption holds a Ph.D. in Human and Economic Geography from Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Abidjan, with a concentration in rural development. He is an experienced Environmental and Social (E&S) Safeguards Specialist with extensive expertise in Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), environmental compliance audits, environmental and social risk management, and the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs).

With more than a decade of professional experience, Dr. KONAN has led and contributed to numerous consulting assignments and technical studies for large-scale national and international development projects funded by the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and the Government of Côte d'Ivoire. His work spans a broad range of sectors, including transportation infrastructure, public health, water supply and sanitation, natural resource management, agriculture, urban development, and ecosystem conservation.

His professional expertise focuses on integrating environmental and social considerations into public policy and development projects, strengthening environmental governance, enhancing territorial resilience, promoting sustainable natural resource management, and advancing inclusive development aligned with internationally recognized environmental and social performance standards.

The author of multiple technical and scientific studies, Dr. KONAN provides strategic advisory services to government agencies, international development partners, local governments, and private-sector clients. His work supports the design and implementation of projects that balance economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. In addition to his consulting practice, he serves as a researcher, trainer, and advisor on environmental and social safeguards, territorial development, sustainable development, and environmental and social risk management.
