Samuel Mathey, PhD, MBA, MA

Samuel Mathey is an international consultant, professor & researcher, author and adviser to various governments and TV anchor. Samuel has specialized on development economic issues, entrepreneurship, debt and finance. Samuel holds a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics from University of Delaware and an MBA and the Ohio State

University. He equally owns a Master degree in monetary economics and econometrics and a bachelor in accounting (2000).

Samuel had been a serial entrepreneur before going into academics, he created a dozen of companies and employed over 200 people in his last venture. He teaches in the United States, Europe and Africa at various business schools (HEC Paris, BEM Dakar, ECG…).

Samuel has worked with major consulting, auditing and accounting firms (including KPMG and PwC) and for different governments as well as international institutions (US government, World Bank…). Samuel has been instrumental in the forging of the Ivorian national strategic development plan as a coordinator for the private sector participation and in the forging of the National SME development strategic plan.

Samuel is the President and Founder of FAFEDE (African Foundation for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development), an NGO that promotes the cause of entrepreneurship cross Africa and the concept of Zero Capital Entrepreneurs (advocated in his book on the issue). AFFEED has presence in 20+ countries across Africa and has trained more than 850,000 and launched the PZD project to train 100 MILLION youth across Africa for the next ten years and bring his concept to the African diaspora and inner cities in the USA.

Samuel is contributor and expert on economics, entrepreneurship issues with several medias and magazines across Africa and Europe (Africa 24 TV, Tycoon Magazine…) and a member of several associations.

His current time is shared between, teaching at various B-schools & universities, publications, lobbying activities, promotion of entrepreneurship across the continent, consulting engagements and adviser to few African political and business leaders.
